Pilgrimage to Germany
 

Passion Play tour here presented offers the best of Catholic Germany! This is a pilgrimage that will cover all aspects of a tour and today's pilgrim's interest!
Tour will take us to cities with, from historical, architectural, and the church's history point of view to the most important sanctuaries, Shrines, and cathedrals in Germany. Cologne cathedral as a first one, hosts the largest reliquary, the gilded sarcophagus, believed to contain the bones of Three Magi! The cathedral which history begins in the 13th century with the constructions that then goes for centuries.

Our journey will also include Aachen; the town served as a principal coronation site of Holy Roman emperors and of German kings from the Middle Ages​. Marian shrine in Belgium, Our Lady Of Banneux, Altotting, Neuschwanstein​, Andechs monastery, one of the greatest Universities in the world, Heidelberg, Trier...and few other exciting destinations!
 

​All of you will also have ahead of you good German beer and food, beautiful landscape with lakes, and the Alps, and at the end, daily Holy Masses celebrated by the priest on tour.                 

 


 

DAY 1 – FLIGHT TO GERMANY
Board your intercontinental flight to Europe, Germany, Frankfurt.


DAY 2 – ARRIVAL TO GERMANY, D 
Upon arrival at Frankfurt International Airport, you will meet with your tour escort and proceed to the city center. City tour of Frankfurt will include the major landmarks of the city, like „Kaiserdom“ or Imperial Cathedral, the Old Town Hall, „Roemer,“ St. Paul's Church and Old Nicolai church, Roemerberg....! Here we have a short free time before dinner and first overnight in Germany. Hotel in Frankfurt.


DAY 3 – FRANKFURT – COLOGNE – AACHEN, B&D 
This morning after breakfast we will leave Frankfurt, head towards the Cologne, for a panoramic cruise around Cologne and then walking the city of the historic city center. Walking tour of the city center visiting the vast gothic Cathedral St. Peter & Mary. This unique church houses the golden Shrine of the Three Magi, and priceless treasure is exhibited in the historic vaulted chamber dating back to the 13th century. This cathedral had been built from the mid 13th century until the last stone was placed on the church 632 years later, October 15th, 1880. Some short free time in the city center before we continue to Aachen! Hotel in Achen!


DAY 4 – AACHEN – OUR LADY OF BANNEUX – TRIER, B&D 
Most of our morning we will spend in Aachen. We are on our walking tour through the city known by its Cathedral, but the city owes its role in the history to emperor Charlemagne who made the city his residence. After his death, he was buried in the Cathedral of Aachen in 824 and canonized two hundred years later. It became an important pilgrimage, to visit Charlemagne's tomb and the relics he received from the patriarch of Jerusalem 799. “The Great Aachen Relics” are in the Charlemagne Shrine, wrapped in silk cloths, opened to the public every seven years. After a visit to the city where the Roman emperors were crowned in from 813 to 1531, we leave to the visit of about 2 hours to Banneux, the Shrine of our Lady of Banneux in Belgium. The same afternoon journey continues to the south towards Trier. Hotel in Trier.


DAY 5 – TRIER – HEIDELBERG, B&D 
Morning tour - today our full morning will be spent in the city of about 2000 years history. We will, of course, visit the St. Peter Cathedral and treasury with the most valuable relic, “The Holy Robe of Christ.” Porta Negra a fortified Roman gateway, Basilica (Aula Palatina) from the period of Constantine the Great, approximately 310 AD. 17th century Elector’s palace and many more details that make Trier so unique. In the afternoon, we are on the way to the beautiful and romantic, Old University of Heidelberg. Hotel in Heidelberg.


DAY 6 – HEIDELBERG – AUGSBURG, B&D 
After breakfast starts our visit to Heidelberg. The city was mentioned for the first time in a document in Schoenau Monastery 1196. 1386 Ruprecht I, one of the imperial Prince-Electors, founded Heidelberg University, which played a leading part in the era of humanism and reformation. On our city tours, we will visit all points of interest such as marvelous 600 years old Heidelberg Castle, Old University, house called "Zum Ritter Sankt Georg" erected in 1592 impressive monuments of the late Renaissance period in Germany then Gothic Cathedral. A city with today more than 28,000 students in the past from 1778 until 1914 had a Students' Prison at the Old University where students were imprisoned for "Kavaliersdelikte." After lunch in one of the cafe shops, we will leave Heidelberg and drive for Augsburg! Hotel in Augsburg.


DAY 7 – AUGSBURG – ANDECHS – OBERAMMERGAU, B&D 
On today's guided tour in Augsburg, our focus will be church St. Peter on Perlach and the fine artworks in it. The famous painting of Our Lady Untier of Knots. Augsburg as one of the oldest Bavarian cities, 15th century BC, also known as a fine renaissance city. Here we will visit St. Mary's Cathedral & the church of St. Anne...Later this morning journ+ey will take us to Benedictine Monastery Anechs - Short visit to Benedictine Monastery on a hilltop near the Amersee lake oasis of prayer and peace with the church. We will have here a beer tasting with the visit to the brewery! The same afternoon we are heading towards Oberammergau. Hotel in Oberammergau area!


DAY 8 – OBERAMMERGAU - NEUSCHWANSTEIN -  ALTOTTING,  B&D 

This morning we will visit Neuschwanstein, a castle built by Ludwig II of Bavaria in the 19th century. ​The Neuschwanstein castle was built for only one person – King Ludwig II. The castle was intended as a home for the king until he died in 1886. ​Ludwig was Richard Wagner’s patron, and many rooms of the castle were inspired by Wagner’s operas. Even so, Wagner never had a chance to visit the castle as he died before its completion.  ​More than 1.3 million people visit annually, with as many as 6,000 per day in the summer. Neuschwanstein is a global symbol of the era of Romanticism. In the afternoon, after a lunch break on our own, we will head towards Altotting. Hotel in Altotting, area.


DAY 9 – ALTOTTING – MUNICH, B&D
Morning visit to Altotting. The entire morning, we will dedicate to Altotting, Holy mass and then guided tour of this over 500 years old Shrine of Our Lady. The visit will among other sites include the „Gnadellenkapele“ The Chapel of the Grace and the story of a little boy of 3 years old that was miraculously brought to life! The same afternoon we are in Munich where we have only an introduction to the „Altstadt“ Old Town of Munich with a focus on a beautiful Square of Virgin Mary – Marienplatz & Cathedral! Some free time in the city center before farewell dinner in a typical Bavarian restaurant „Gasthof.“ Hotel night in Munich


DAY 10 – MUNICH flight home, B
Transfer to Munich Intl. Airport – flight back home.
